Special Friends Online was created to provide a fun, entertaining, informative and safe environment for people with learning disabilities and their parents, carer’s and volunteers to make friends, reconnect with old friends and have fun. We recognise that our users are amongst the most vulnerable and have taken numerous measures to ensure their safety whilst using the site. This policy is designed to describe to you how we collect, use and disclose personal information.
The Information We Collect:
- We directly collect your email address, real name, user name and password when you initially set up your account
- Special Friends Online requires every user to supply a valid email address in order to register, we use this information to send you information about your account.
- At Special Friends Online, we do not keep any financial information, this is handled by our secure payments processing vendor who in turn sends the payments onto Special Friends Online.
How We Use, Disclose and Store The Information We Collect:
- Special Friends Online may at times actively use the email address and user names to track site usage.
- Any members found using the website inappropriate manner will be banned and their email address permanently block from registration. Legal action can be pursued if the user’s behaviour warrants such action.
- We will at no time give out your details to any third party.
Collection Of Information For Third Party Sites And Sponsors:
- At present Special Friends Online will not allow any third parties to advertise their link on the website, it is our intention to keep the site free of such advertising and not allow third parties access to the site.

- Special Friends Online may use software that places “cookies” on the user’s computers, these cookies do not contain any personal information nor will they harm your computer, they are used purely to indentify geographical location, usage and session length of the users in general.
