The idea for Special Friends Online was conceived by the Director, Martin Harris who himself has had many years experience of working with people with learning disabilities. He is the Founder and Chief Executive of a National Charity in the UK and has worked closely with the Special Olympics GB. Martin called in a variety of consultants to help him with the extensive research needed for this site and has employed several people to not only ensure that the site is effective and safe but will also be there to support its members.

Sara Cannon, Chief Administrator, has also had vast experience of living and working with people with learning disabilities, Sara is also the Company Secretary and has the task of ensuring that the day to day running of the site runs smoothly.

Claire Hewett is the Operations Manager. She has many years of experience in Sales and Marketing as well as working with two major charities in the UK for people who have Learning Disabilities. 

Claire has many responsibilities including marketing the website both here and abroad, liasing with charities, schools and organisations Worldwide and developing the website to ensure we meet all the requirement of our members. 

John

John is head of our moderating team which controls the safety and security online for its members.  He has been a police officer for 13 years and has served in many locations around Britain.  For the last 6 years he has been a Firemans Officer based at a local International Airport.  Prior to joining South Wales Police he was Royal Military Policeman and served for 5 years in the UK and West Germany.

 "I met Martin in 2005 and became interested in his work with the charity. Having seen him in action on the road show and heard all about the help the charity gives to children across the country I was very pleased when Martin asked me to get involved with this latest project which I believe has the potential to changes thousands of peoples' lives across the world".

Martin has called on the expertise of two family members Heidi and Stuart. They will be looking after the shop and have experience in merchandising and the running of promotions and exhibitions Worldwide.
